haha with some help from alex(rustyrodder/NYstang) I got the transmission out today, I was amazed at how easy it was, every bolt came right out without an issue only took us about an hour and a half from jacking the car up to having everything off.
exhaust off
transmission out
nasty throw out bearing with tons of play
that giant THING is ur rear end? its as big as the wheels on that car! holy hell! how much power is that rated for?
its the factory 9" pretty much the strongest rear end ever built, even chevy guys run them
i just bought one lolol
fuckin massive arn’t they? I just ordered gears for mine today:thumbup
they are not light , what gear ya get ?
3.70
good jump . im runnin a 390 wit a spool lol
oh, ive heard of those. they seem to work well for some high power applications. how much power are u shooting for?
yea it should pick it up quite a bit
when I get around to building the new motor it should have 500 or so, If I add spray more.
I pulled the steering column and pedal cluster to install the ball bearing conversion. The pedal support needs to be modified so I will be taking it over to ensign autobody where I have access to a welder and all of the other metal working tools.
While I everything was out I noticed that the gas pedal had very little travel, and upon further investigation found that it was only opening the throttle body about 75% which explains why the car was so slow. The original 67 pedal was linkage design so I am running a 69 pedal that has a different design that I modified to run the throttle cable.
so I will be making a spacer to put between teh floor and the pedal bracket to raise it up an inch or so, which will also make the gas pedal just about even with the brake pedal.
it wasnt the gas pedal makin it slow lol
haha no it was those long ass gears
