they don;t find it affordable and thats the point. They know in the end they have a good chance of paying out so they want their “cake and eat it to”
waht is crazy is this. last summer when i got approved for the 1kRR. progressive quoted me 13k. that is 2k more then the biek is new. i was like your kidding me. they said no. to sum it up i went with liberty mutual and its only 883 for last year and i dont got a great record but im also 25 and took the MSF and belong to honda club of america for now
Okay bitches, back on topic. Call State Farm for bike insurance, they were waaaaaaaaaaaaay lower than anyone ive ever seen. I paid $30 a month for liability on a 2000 Yamaha R6. And i think Full coverage was only like $70 a month. And i was 23 at the time, with a perfect driving record.
:eek2: :eek2: i think i’d a shit myself
State Farm was who I called that told me “We wouldn’t be interested”, and another State Farm office told me $3K a year. :dunno:
Kolar, that company Jenn was talking about that didn;t want to insure the bike she called about was State farm…
how is your driving record?
Kolar it was for me, and I;m 25 with a perfect record…
No tickets no accidents…
cause of a cavy cant speed!!! :boink
like i said… i pay 140 / yr. for my TLR through progressive… pretty good imo
dude I have had more than a cavy
Fine - I have a perfect record and that includes driving heavy rigs…
Happy :burnout:
thats a pretty good rate for a 1000cc, it seems as if the street bikes actually have lower insurance rate than a harley/cruiser would have.
well they also judge the bikes by a chart of performance. like the TLR and a busa they arent listed as Supersports or Race Ready bikes. a true litre bike is very pricey. also if you never rode before then insurance will be high for the first year or so
I can understand that but with my experence they never even asked for a skill level, how long riding, any safty classes or anything.
:dunno:
dis is way too much stress about insurance… thats why i say fuck insurance ride a stuntbike… they wanted me to pay 4 sumptin a month i got the insurance bought the bike then got home and cancelled it…
some companies suck, mike. im lucky to have gotten liberty mutual. they also saved me alot for my truck and car policy
Haven’t read all the posts here but your first post. DO NOT SELL YOUR ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A BIKE!!! As for going straight to a R1 or 1000RR, don’t do that. The reason that bike insurance is so high for crotch rockets is that statistically an insurance company pays out after less then 3 months. The cheapest I have found is Progressive and State Farm but State Farm you have to have a car on their policy also. Also another thing they are gona look for when quoting you is Age, sex, tickets and accidents and HAVE YOU INSURED A BIKE BEFORE. I was originally told by a person to buy a cheap cruiser for a year and insure it since they are like $40 a month to insure when originally I wanted a bike. The crotch rocket was $205 a month back then. I never did it but if you never insured a bike before, they will rape you of your money the first year it is insured.
Good luck but I do believe a depending on your size a 600 is the best for you if you never rode a street bike before or never rode on consistently. Take time with a smaller bike to learn to ride the right way. Get a 1000 in a year or two. That is just my opinion but I am sure any other people on here that ride bikes also would agree with me. I would go no larger then a 750 to begin with. Actually, I have been riding for 6 years now and have owned a Ducati 916 but I am actually just thinking about getting a 600RR just cause I just want something to cruise on and hit some turns, not something that has that much top end since I will probably never max the thing out. This is just one person telling you something but take it as you will, there are many opinions on here
sorry not everyone likes to be illegal like you. Your the kind of peoson that would probably weave through traffic then when I squash you with my truck because of your stupidity, You would try to sue me, mean while my truck won’t get fixed because your your insurancless ass…
so thats more money out of my pocket…
if that was directed to me, yeah I hear you. I think its basically luck of the draw…
Actually i was going to buy a cbr 929RR at first…and the price they quoted me at first on insurance wasnt really that much more than the R6. They didnt ask me how long ive been riding or if i had taken any safety classes.
