And what I about where I live, you know I only live one block from the city, for some irony the only ever instance of a problem happening on this street was when two city kids decided to grab a neighbors two houses down children’s bikes from the front yard. And promptly be chased down and abandon said bikes by another neighbors older sons. Also Amherst PD onsite in less than 5 minutes.

Eh I say bullshit, the biggest problem surrounding pearl street is just down the way heading towards the Synacor building are the BMHA housing area, that is problematic.
Well apparently the same guy took another bike from pearl st this past Tuesday. On camera again…begging for a sting operation. BPD has been pretty lax. Officers actually talked to the guy at last thursday’s harbour show but let him go for whatever reason after getting his name, address and record (on probation already). No idea if that information was ever recorded or given to the detective.
It seems like everyone has this mentality that stuff like this only happens in the city. I grew up in hamburg and had 2 bikes stolen, plus many friends bikes. Taken from their garage at their house even. This is not just a city thing.
I’d love to see this shitbag set up and fucked up. Sadly in our ass backwards society you would be punished more for setting him up, than he would be for being a criminal. 8/
Waste of time. I know city DA’s and judges that have had kids come in that have stolen cars not once but four times and still never see jail time. Our city is screwed up so someone taking a bike is nothing that is gonna get their attention.
This guy was dumb enough to steal several more bikes downtown since mine and finally attracted enough attention yesterday to get himself arrested by the BPD. Caught red handed I believe…court next week.
