Bing, the news in your country is hilarious

I think he’s beautiful

Yeah ive been hearing for a while that hes trolling. Its pretty rad.

I know people with cottages just across the border and this is just another slap after COVID restrictions…

So you make a trust with origins in Canada, thus owned by a Canadian. bam

Well if it’s anything like the last restriction they put on foreign investment, there’s a residency requirement.

Wife and I just got back from a Toronto trip, and she commented on the way home how you don’t see any single detached neighborhoods/suburbs, just townhouses and apartment complexes. That got me thinking, is this how most of Ontario is?

for the new builds yes. if you came up the QEW you probably wont see any townhomes under $500k USD for builder grade between Peace bridge and the Burlington Skyway.

Once you get into the GTA it’s $750k USD and up for a new townhome.

Detached singles in the GTA would start at $900k USD and up.

You couldnt get a decent builder lot in a residential neighbourhood in Hamilton for under $400k USD and that would be in a poop area. The ones i see in better areas are $600k USD and up for just a lot that you could build a detached home on.

Interest rates brought us back maybe 10% - 20%… maybe more on the high end.

sales volumes are down 40-50% year over year but since the supply is so low the prices are not cratering.

Interest rates went up so fast it’s hard to say if they’ve had enough time to ‘play-through’

Maybe that was the reason for the heist several years ago

How to lie with statistics 101:

https://cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/impact-and-accountability/finances/annual-reports/ar-2018-2019/financial-sustainability/revenue-and-other-funds

Look at the y-axis between $700 - $1,700M

That’s SOOOOO shady. Saw a ton of this with covid graphs at the start of covid too. You can make a curve look like it’s doing anything you want when you compress certain ranges.

They purposely inverted so many of the COVID/vax graphs that they read as declines/favorability but the numbers were actually opposite.

Great find @bing ! I’m teaching my stats unit coming up next month and always tell my kids they need to analyze data carefully because you can spin it any way you want. I’m definitely stealing those charts for an example.
