blow through mafs

how do blow through mafs operate?

i was talking to a guy who topld me he was running blow through mafs setup off his hotpipipe and im curious as to how this works, and what is needed to make it work.

anyone?

nothing much is needed to make it work…u just slap ure maf inbetween ure throttle body and ure charge pipes whereever you find it fits tight…
this is a good way to avoid ure cars idle to drop when ure bov is vented into the atmosphere…If your BOV is recirculated, then there is really no point in the mafs being a part of ure charge pipes, as opposed to being on the inlet of ure turbo just after ure air filter…

im not very experienced with the blow by mafs setup, but im pretty sure thats all there is to it…id like to know more so if anyone knows, please post ure 2 cents…

The only thing I know about blow through is that you need to have a certain length of straight pipe before the mafs, you can’t have it right after a turn, I’m just not sure what that length was.

All the stuff I’ve read over the years, you want like 6"-8" of straight pipe
BEFORE and AFTER the maf.

Generally you’d plcae the MAF just before your throttle body.

thanks boys

much appretiated

im currently running a blow through maf on my ka24de-t and it works amazing but…

there are some things you need to know.

you have to have a way to control fuel because once you go blow through you may run a bit rich so you may need to trim fuel down.

next would be location, i find close to the throttle body is best as this is able to meter more acuratly.

lastly i have read people saying you should have it on a straight section and so on but i have not found any difference on the cars that i have tuned where the maf was only 2 inches away from a bend.

But overall it work amazing i swear by it and it works amazing, let me know if you have any other questions.
