ok, i know im just going to get flamed for this thread, but i dont give a shit. In june i when to look at 89 240sx coupe with only 86k on it. Had heads up display , now its anagol. I like it, but it had some problems, Rust. The normal place for rust is fine, but the frame in the rear of the car isnt to great. i paid 1400 for it and i plan on driving it into the ground. The front bumper was screwed up so i got a replacement from a friend and threw it on. Today i painted in my driveway and no not with rattle can. I have a gun and i just sprayed it. I know its a 240, not a show car, so i just painted it flat black. i have never sprayed a car before in my life but its pretty good i think for my first time. here are some pics
well good news your headed in a better direction than your brother…even better news its not a combination of a honda with a nissan with skyline bumper / rear bumper made out of sheet metal…for your first car it was a decent decision but you do you have your license yet/
should have left it the original color… flat black looks like ass.
Why spend money on mods for a beater? Save your money until you have something respectable to spend your money on. If you are going to spend money on it for the hell of it at least do mods that help the car. Things like new bushings, or a tune up would be better served then a CAI and Exhaust.
bushings, shocks + struts, strut mounts, RUST!, automatic seat belts, full tune up, possibly a waterpump, clean the TPS and MAF, think about a new catalytic converter… thats all I got now
