Booking Air fair

If you start flying enough you will understand the perks of those other airlines…

The only airline better than Delta is Virgin but I don’t live on the west coast so that doesn’t help.

I used to fly JetBlue and now I regret spending so much money there for such a mediocre frequent flyer program. Delta is the move, hoping this year I can get a really decent status. Even Silver last year was enough to make flying a ton easier (I didn’t fly Delta as much as I’d have liked) and earned me first class often on routes to smaller cities.

Last year my trip to Vegas was 245 on SWA @LZ1 this year I paid 502

Same with LA, was around 325, now 550 on SWA

Though I’m going to SFO soon and that was only in the 300s

Let’s all go to the Air Fair!

+1 for Delta. They’ve been good to me.

However, that reserve card has a $450 membership fee. So unless you’re using it for absolutely everything you do, then a regular Delta SkyMiles AmEx would probably suffice, that’s what I use which still gets me priority boarding, more likely to get bumped to first class, no bag fees, etc. And it’s just the regular $90 membership fee which pays for itself in one trip if you consider the baggage.

If you fly more than 3-4 times a year the $450 is worth it for the club access

I don’t know how you guys find them to be the best…out of all the airlines Delta SkyPesos are consistently the hardest for me to redeem for reward flights at anything less than rape prices. I’ve been sitting on 137,000 that I can’t even use for two years cause I refuse to get ripped off. In that time I’ve easily booked 25 RT award flights on American, US, JetBlue, United, and Southwest. Just checked to come home in April and they want 65,000 for a domestic RT flight. GFY.

I book shit all the time for 20-40k points.

Not when my layovers are 45 minutes to 2 hours at most. With international travel that starts to make a lot more sense.

Maybe they give their elites more availability or better rates? All I know is I can always find a 25k RT between the east and west coasts unless I’m going around a holiday, and Delta always wants 50+.

South West Rapid Rewards is the best for Domestic IMO, the wanna get away fares are incredible, even now being more expensive, still cheaper than most.

Bump,

Flying to Nah Lins in April. Seems like the general thought is to go with Delta? If someone wants to add pts to their account I could give you credit. I almost never fly anywhere so points aren’t really meaningful to me. This is my second time ever flying…so…yeah

Or any other advice is welcome.

The person who has the Delta account frequent flyer number has to be on the ticket.
