Boost leak

So, I was driving home from work last night and noticed that all of my 90 horses of power were seeming a little sluggish. It got worse as I got closer to home…to the point where I’d need a good dose of throttle in 3rd to get up a small hill.

So, I pop the hood in the rain and start looking, and find this:

:fry:

I’m amazed that I didn’t get any CELs or go into limp mode…

Looks like the bolts backed out sometime between 12-20 when I had my timing belt done and today…

Definitely enjoying my new found power on the drive to work today. I wonder if this wasn’t a good part of why my mileage was only 40mpg last tank (in addition to a dragging front caliper and a humming rear wheel bearing that I’m replacing this weekend).

Its not obvious in the picture what we are looking at. Is that a gab between the intake manifold and the … diesel injector?

Huge gap between the EGR and the intake manifold (all are pressurized parts of the intake system). It was no longer connected at all.

Ya, thatll do it.

You prob were in limp, just no CEL… yet.

OMG! YOU ACCIDENTLY THE WHOLE THING?

what car / truck is that?

Jetta TDI

A faggot-mobile.

time for LS1 swap

only 40mpg. HOW TERRIBLE THIS WAS! (are these normally like 48mpg? ;))
