took some pics a few days ago when me and boosted3g were hangin out at hotrodkid’s house, cause they had no camera when they were doing the project, so im posting up for them.

not bad… glad to see its finished
get those pipes powdercoated for some extra bling
what was the dyno numbers?
the 14b = extreme lack of hp … dont wory about the numbers, lol
That’s why that turbo has gone low 11’s on no NO2 on a heavy DSM… :rolljerk:
they are having trouble with the a/f ratio so the numbers dont apply yet…i’ve riden in it, pulls nicely…just sounds funny lol
Yeah, that FMIC does look a bit large for a turbo that is efficiently cooled by a SMIC. Especially since you’re running fairly low boost I presume.
but bigger=better:roll2:
this project was NEVER MENT TO HAVE A 14B ON IT
that IC was bought the same time as the 16G and after the 16g got damaged, if tom had had the money to buy a smaller IC to compliment the 14b we got ahold of, he would have used that money to replace the 16g !!
so instead of a 16g @ 11 psi, were using a 14b @ 9 psi - an thts a huge flow diffeence
i could have gotahold of a sidemount for cheap, but that would have required buying another 130 worth of piping to fit and cutting his drivers side wheel well to fit it in too … just for a temporary situation
the hp #'s are low, but theres plenty of area “under the curve”, especialy on the TQ side of things
and at the same time, from 3k-4k the car still wants to run 14.7, and only drops to 13:1 at wot
^ well put…the toque numbers were VERY good on Tom’s dyno sheet, just the hp was funky…16g + more boost = teh win
FP had to be jacked to 60psi under boost to keep the a/f below 14:1
an earlier run shows the a/f holding at 14.7 before quickly juming to 15 before it started to drop again
150hp @ 3400 rpm
175hp still @ redline
195hp someplace in between
150tq @ 3200 rpm
250tq by 4000 rpm
You need some more fuel that is very lean for a daily driven turbo car
yes i know, we have to address that issue. the factory ecu is apparently damn good at adjusting
Injectors: 275 stock replaced w/ 440’s
fuel pump 175 stock rplaced with walbro 255
fuel pressure: 43 stock now @ 62.8
safc is +40 … and the cars still lean !
i want to get a second safc and use it to modify the stock 02 signal,
actualy, im going to use one of the wide bands analog outputs to trick the ecu into thinking that 12:1 is actualy 14.7
if the ecu doesnt see that its rich, it wont try to lean it out !
what were EGTs looking like?
EDIT : blah I answered/ you answered all my questions lol
its to lean because its at 14.7 after the cars under full boost, it should be at 12 any time its boosting
i donno about egts, i havent takenthe car WOT yet myself, and i wasnt there for dyno day
injectors are dsm blue tops from a 1g
Those injectors should nearing their limit at 200WHP
want bigger ones?
i could have sworn that that 440’s are good for 300-350 hp
and i know that there are guys running 3g’s w/ 16g’s, putting down 275 hp with lower fuel rail pressures , so we shouldnt be maxing them out yet
open loop dood
open loop isnt working that damn good anyways
closed loop is fucking us even harder by keeping it at 14.7 for at least 1000 rpm our of the rpm band, despide doubleing the injectors, 50% more fuel pressure and 40% more on the safc
good luck with the fuel, that is very lean. No more WOT till that gets fixed or it could go bye bye.
