Borrow / Rent Drone Time

Not right now but in the spring (whenever that is) I would like to get someone out to my house with a drone / camera setup. I have two areas of the roof that I can’t see from the ground no matter how far back I get and being that I have a three story house, I don’t like the concept of having to go up there 35-45 feet above the ground. I don’t like heights, you can laugh all you want, it is what it is.

Would be willing to pay someone if that’s what it takes. Please respond / PM me if you think you’d be interested. Thanks.http://www.nyspeed.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36155&stc=1

I’d love to help you out but none of my flying toys have cameras. If you can find one to borrow I’ve got a lot of experience flying quads and helis.

Stand on the metal building, the you only need to see one side

Don’t you have any crew workers that you could get to climb on up there?

We already spoke in PM, but i just wanted to say I have 10 years heli experience, many of those droning. I have no problem with precision flying, we can get up close and personal with what you need looked at, even considering the wide lenses I use.

If anyone else needs something personal, let me know. Not for business. Just for kicks.

I really just want to sample some more directed flights. Flying for joy is kind of random, whereas I want more experience doing a “job” so I can finish up my exemption request before too many more laws change.

I have one if you need it.

They’d probably fall off and sue me.

You should talk to @tpgsr and maybe collaborate on home inspections.

I really want to use drones for my inspections and some other marketing angles. My concern is the new laws. I have not done all the necessary research but I am pretty sure that I can’t legally use one for my business.

I will be looking for some insight on this topic in the next couple months as the weather starts to turn and things start to upswing.

Yea you should look into commercial use stuff whole different set of rules/laws

Yeah, I am in the process of filing my 333a exemption (COE for business use) and it is a long and arduous task. The problem with that is the rules are about to change at any moment, most likely calling for a full scale pilots license. It is a very grey area constituting what is commercial and what is not.

Basically, as soon as a business is linked with it, or money changes hands for the flight, it is deemed commercial. If I help a “buddy” with a flyover of private property for personal reasons, I’m good. If that same video was used to promote the sale and purchase of that property, that’s no good.

This is part of the business that I Am in so I am no good :frowning:

I will start researching right away the requirements as I need to be grandfathered.

Mike, are you doing home inspections? Are you a ceo? Just wondering

If you mean me, I am doing home inspections as well as a couple other things.

If you meant the other Mike, he is a CEO not a home inspector.

Cool, just wondering who else is on code enforcement. I took the classes a long time ago because I was bored. Now I suffer through the mandatory updates yearly

I went through it too, but my employer stopped sending me for the yearly updates last year so now it’s basically void I guess?

Nah, they changed the rules and if you get the updates you’ll be reinstated. The only good thing I’ll say about it is it helped a lot with my licensing exams

It would fairly easy to setup a drone with pre programmed way points to record a house.

I would help but my drones are setup for racing and no recording video :frowning:
