Sorry guys, my comment was more directed at JayS for pointing out that these bombs were used in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I should have quoted him. As he put that up, I was watching CNN and they were airing something stating the opposite of how they think this was done from inside the US, but I wouldn’t expect them to say anything other than that.
Pressure cookers have been used extensively as IED Containers in Pakistan, India and Afghanistan over the last ten years.
Attacks in Mumbai and the 2010 attack in Stockholm used pressure cookers as containers.
Recent plots foiled in France employed pressure cookers.
All of these were Islamic terrorists.
CNN is just hopeful its a white guy in his parents basement with a NRA membership.
Noone can work on a roof? I don’t understand the repetitive posting of this pic on twitter/facebook/etc. If it was any other day I’m sure no one would pay attention to someone working on a roof.
The thing about that picture too is this: From his perspective, he can’t actually see the bomb area anyways. Look at it closely, there is a building in his way. The blocked most of it out. This is the stupidity that pisses me off.

I’m sure there are traffic cams, store surveillance and such that police are reviewing to see when these devices were dropped.
^ During the press conference they were making a big plea for any amateur video/photos that were taken that day. You have to figure there were 1000’s of cameras going all day long there, especially near the finish line where this occurred. Pretty much zero chance this bomber wasn’t caught on camera at some point.
Last night they kept showing the same one or two videos over and over and over. You would think in today’s world there would be dozens of videos pretty much instantly on TV. Youtube seems to be only about 3 minutes behind real world time. lol
Was there only one news channel at the end of this huge race?

My guess, just based on what I’ve read so far is this will trace back to someone trained at a terrorist camp in Afghanistan or Pakistan. The pressure cooker bomb is popular there because it’s an off the shelf part. If it was someone training here picking some random bomb design off the internet they’d probably pick something else, like a pipe bomb. Pressure cooking isn’t popular here, you can’t just walk into Walmart or Target and pick up a large pressure cooker, you’d have to order it. Ordering your bomb parts when you’re not planning on killing yourself in the attack is a good way to get caught.
The attempted Times Square bombing in 2010 was a pressure cooker bomb too, it just failed to go off. That one traced back to Pakistan born guy (who became a US citizen in 2009) who trained at a terrorist camp in Pakistan.
