my car is throwing p0444 evaportive purge control valve my car is running fine its 02 wrx 2.0t. could a aftermarket bov cause this code. its been on my car 4 3 months but i recently adjusted the spring this was yesterday an d now its throwing cel. any ideas
Throw the stock bov on. You’re car will thank you, and it will be quicker into boost/less rich in-between gears. Yea, you lose the sound of VTA, but the gains are a better running
car, and more efficiency. Do what I did, trade the aftermarket for a stock bov+cash !

It is because the car reads the amount of air coming into the motor before the blow off valve, so when the valve opens the car goes rich (since there is now less air and the same amount of fuel).

what brand is your BOV? Greddy and HKS can just be made to recirculate
no , the b.o.v is not causing this code . most likely its a broke vacuum line or bad evap purge solenoid . it is part of the fuel vapor managment on the car not the b.o.v
