I don’t want to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but when one bows, one signifies the superiority of the one bowed to. It is a gesture of submission. lol dude he’s president of the United States, not king of the world. When he’s in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi king IS superior. I’m not saying he should have dropped to his knees and kissed the King’s feet, but showing respect to your host in his house is a nice change from the attitude that made it seem like a good idea to enforce a UN resolution by ourselves without UN approval if you know what I mean. Do you know what I’m talking about?
And like I said before, he’s not just some King. He’s a king that supplies our industry with its fuel. Like JayS said, if we really wanted to show how much we need him as our ally Obama would have dropped his pants, bent over, and lubed up.

But he is bowing like a groveling servant. Show me pics of past presidents bowing to another leader this way.

While I completely understand where you are coming from. It does not defer from the fact that it is against formal conduct to do what he did. in ancient times if a leader or emperor or what have you were to bow to someone, they would have been seen as weak and submissive. Cultures have changed over the years yes, but the basic principals are still the same.
