Brake booster

Hello,

I blew my brake booster again on the track. This is the second times happened. And this is the one from a JDM front clip that only had 60k. What cause this happen so often?? I have a 300zx 30mm aluminum caliper at front and stock rear caliper. I don’t have the heat shield of the turbo. Will the heat come from the turbo effect the brake booster? and can i use the 300zx brake booster? I had a 1993 240sx without abs.

Thanks for any help.

funny that it would blow… but if you want an upgrade, mid90’s pathfinder booster… it’s nice and short but gives a bigger boost

oh maybe your check-valve failed? replace that too

yup. I think it must be something wrong with my brake system or too much heat from the turbo. Which one is the check-valve?? anyone knows why i blow the brake booster twice in a year??

Thanks for the help.

the check valve is the fitting in the middle of the tube from the intake to the brake booster

Wont Fit…

Well I tried quickly to get mine to fit and I had problems with it hitting the strut tower etc and not being able to get it on the right angle or have enough room to slide it throu the fire wall etc + clear the strut @ the same time but… I only screwed with it for a minute or two

It may fit but I highly doubt it…

are you using a 300zx mc? or just the booster?

me ? lol… if so im using the z32 MC yes, but just the stock S13 booster as the Z32 one was about an inch bigger easy and was hitting the strut tower (as mentioned above) so I said screw it and just used the stocker but kept the Z32 booster just in case I decided I wanted to make it fit, lol.

Do u have any pic that can show me what is the check valve?

Thanks alot.

anyone knows why i blew the brake booster twice a year? Please help.

Im almost positive that there is a Rubber Diaphram etc inside the Booster and if the Rubber dries out (which they do) then the Diaphram no longer seals and it would seem then as if its “blown”

Someone correct me if I’m wrong thou…

is your turbo top mount?

if you overheat it it will fail.

Is your M/C leaking into the booster?

It doesn’t take much brake fluid to nuke the diaphragm.

But my first guess would be heat.

Turbos get kinda hot

No. i have the stock t25 turbo and stock manifold. but i dont’ have the heat shield that bolt on the manifold. How can i lower the tempature of the brake booster? can i use something to wrap the brake booster??

Thanks

It’s not heat then…

Im pretty sure we used an S12 booster on an S14 for extra clearance, but it might have just been the master that we swapped. Either way it works well.
