Brake issue: Need a favor from fellow members

Working on my brakes and realize I need this tool kit. Just wondering if anyone have a caliper wind back tool kit (pict above) that I can either rent or borrow or if someone see this kit locally in a store where they have it in stock. Try to get it as soon as I can since I can’t use my car until it is fixed.

Thanks ahead. :bowdown:bowdown

I bought that set at Harbor Freight a few years ago

I used water pump pliers on mine. Our cars share the same rear calipers and I believe the front should work the same even though mine aren’t the Brembo units (yet).

I’ve used two screwdrivers before, one as a wedge and one as a lever. Easy peasy.

Thick straight edge pliers. Use them

the store? or online?

Thanks for all the ideas, but don’t you have to apply good pressure at the same as time as you turn it in? thanks.

I bought it in the store. Its in my garage now but Im not really going to be around much the next few days

Oh good, so they do stock them. I will try the pliers trick first. Thanks for the info. :number1

You can get a universal caliper “cube” at Advance for under $10.

Just goes onto an extension and works half decent for the money.

Does most cars, if I stop in garage again tomm, I could try to pick one up.

Mine went easy, I’ve done it twice so far.

Oh and FYI you can “rent” one at a local Advance too, kit as you pictured.

You get all money back once you bring it back, but you have to pay full price as collateral.

Just call ahead to see if they have it.

i have it and you are welcome to use it, but i need it back ASAP.

i have one too ( cube thing) im right in colonie next to albany .

Thanks guy for your help, going to try the pliers trick after work and see.

Might have to borrow yours Wayne if that didn’t work. MclarenGP, I knew about the cube ones, but most likely it will not fit and I don’t want to risk damaging your tool.

Not sure what you drive but if they are rear calipers that screw in ive always used a pair of needle nose with no problem.

the cube ones are gay as fuck.

Pliers worked.

My right hand is disabled but it worked. This fixing car thing is just too stressful…:lol

i have one as well , to late now i know but good job gettin it done
