Brake line replacement (!!!)

I’m still kind of new to all this, so I need some help.

All I know is replacing them is a bitch, and noone wants to do it (even offered someone like $100 to do it for me and they wouldnt) but since it has to do with my brakes, I don’t want to wing it.

What do I need (what sizes are the lines?), and how do I go abouts doing it with these scenarios:

Its just a peice thats corroded

More than a peice comes off when I try to replace just the leaking line

And I also want to try and avoid getting it done at a shop for stupid prices.

Thanks a lot, any more information you need, let me know.

pm me you MSN address

just replace the line from one t to the next.

take out your old piece, take it to the hardware store or wherever, C-tire even sells them. find a piece that has the right sized nuts that are already flanged. find a piece of exact or similar length to the one you took out.

bending it will be the hardest part, i would suggest using your old line on the ground as a guide to bend your new one. use some kind of round metallic can to make the bends, as not to kink the line.

good luck.

Chances are your lines are all rusted and you might as well do them all. I know its a huge job but youll quickly see that when you touch or bend one part of the line the one beside it will crumble as well.

lines are 3/16, basic flanges… use JDM brake line from crappy tire (japanese car)

get some new flex house/ stainless steel brake lines aswell(connect from line to caliper) chances are some of those are seized together with the line and your fucked… cause the line will brake or the nut will strip.
