brake master cylinder???

my question is : i am installing r32 gtr brakes on my 89 240 front and rear. my car does have ABS , will my brakes be shit/feel shitty if i dont change the brake master cylinder to one of the skyline/and or 300zx? or will i be ok running my existing master cylinder ? any help/advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

If your going to install the rear brakes as well might as well do it all.

  1. Remove the abs.
  2. pick up a 1 1/16 bmc from Napa … will run you around $130 + core
  3. go to Nissan and buy a new reservior, or use the existing one from your bmc (they might fit)
  4. Enjoy your new brakes

ok thanks… what if i left the abs in ? the skyline that i got the brakes off of had abs…or am i just better off without it all together?

abs is gay. Remove it, its not that hard to do. But its not necessary to remove make your brake swap work, just a added plus i guess.

You can keep your stock brake master cylinder but brakes won’t be used to there 100% potential and pedal will still feel gay.

Go to NAPA get one and exchange your stock 240 as a core.
and install that one. It makes a huge difference.

When i did my brake swap, my brakes felt like shit. Once i swapped the BMC, the brakes were completely different.

so i went to napa today and the guy didnt know what i was talking about when i said i needed a 1 1/16 bmc. do i just need to buy a bmc that is for a 300zx?
