Brake Pad Recomendations?

I’m looking for pads that will be for street use & ocasional heavy braking, but that won’t shit all over my wheels with crazy amounts of dust. Any suggestions?

I’ve had Axxis Metal Masers and Axxis Ultimates on my Z and both were super dusty. I want something where I won’t have to wash my wheels twice a week, lol.

ive been running performance friction pads on my evo since the end of last year and this year so far. i love these things, i BARELY get any dust and they brake hard. held up like a champ brake boosting and stopping from 140 last night…

unfortunately the only pads that don’t dust (ceramics) will have horrible bite. You’ll be able to stop as fast as needed on the street, but the feel and fade will be worse. I put ceramics on my 328ic and at first I thought I was going to die when noticed how poor the bite was. 15 minutes later I was just pushing a little harder and now I don’t even notice it. I’ll hero brake as needed and they’ll stop the car locking up the tires if I really need for couple times before fade.

you’re going to have to decide between cleaning or a good pedal bite, there is no compromise pad.

Gotcha. These just going to be street pads. I’ll find something else for the track.

Doesn’t EBC Red Stuff claim to be good with brake dust?

edit: yeah

http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive/redstuff_brake_pads/redstuff_brake_pads.shtml

"This material is a Kevlar® fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. "

now that’s some good marketing.

I’ve heard good things about EBC pads, but have never used them myself.

I liked my ferrodo pads for street/track use, good pads, not cheap though.

I really like the Ferrodo pads that I’d driven with (2500 and 3000)… but these are VERY dusty pads.

EBC makes good pads, I’ve always ran them on the bike and have yet to be disappointed. They don’t make much dust and you can stop on a dime.

I just picked up some Hawk HPS pads for my S4. Supposed to be little dust and great stopping for street and light track. Havent put them on though yet but heard nothing but great things.

I have Hawk HPS on my GTO and while I’m happy with their braking for spirited driving on the street they dust quite a bit.

Also, they have horrible initial bite when really wet.

performance friction is a brand name, which pads?

I also have the performance friction pads and i can go a week or two without having to wash wheels. The car gets dirtier faster than the wheels. They have also lasted me quite awhile.

performance friction carbon metallic

thats all the box says
got them from chris ( 05orangeSS ) when he was at SSBC

Dont be fag. Carbotech race FTW!!!

barely any dust… you mean u dont have a lot of dust from the massive 592 miles you have put on your car the past two years?

That’s still more miles then I’ve put on mine in the past 2 years, lol.

I’m baffled at the amount of brake dust my stock pads produce, without any noticeable pad wear. My wheels are basically gunmetal color after about 50-100 miles, a couple hundred miles and the front wheels are pretty much black.

Where does it all come from you damn dirty brakes…???

One time I let the wheels go for about 500 miles just to see if I like the black wheel look.
