Rebuttle? What you are discussing and coming at me with are topics that aren’t the issue that I was trying to discuss man. If you would listen to what I am trying to say and not just assume it isn’t what you want to hear maybe we can have a discussion. Lets first start with no crazy talk like americans want to kill people, first of all I love kittens and wish harm upon nobody. I don’t think we should be in combat right now. Did you read what I wrote? This thread was moved here because I said that troops deserve respect. I think they do. TROOPS of ALL nations. I don’t care if you are a guy holding the gun trying to kill me I think your people should support your service is my point here. You just want to believe I am trying to defend the war or big bad americans or something. I am not. I never implied once that we should be in combat so I don’t know why you even go to that. Maybe it is cause I get pleasure from killing people haha.

Well, that will not promote any reasonable discussion (though I’m skeptical that one is possible), so I’ll try to address something else you said:

You said we shouldn’t be in the wars that we are, but it would be OK if we liberated Darfur. Why? Saddam committed genocide, invaded neighboring countries, and as a result had to cooperate with the UN. He stopped cooperating with UN weapons inspectors, so we said “oh hell no.” Why is helping oppressed and brutalized Africans OK but doing the same for Iraqis is not?

saddam is dead, and he could have been killed with a bomb instead of an invasion. and besides, now that hes gone why is everyone still there?

and were did i say liberate darfur? there is a difference between DEFENDING and liberating. use the army for peacekeeping and defence. let the people in the country sort out their politics.

Too late to be able to put together an intelligent response so here’s cliffs of my thoughts

-Fuck anyone who stabs a sleeping monster (Al Qaeda/Taliban)
-May God/Allah/whoever be with the innocent
-The death of an innocent person is always bad/wrong
-The UN should have decided to go back into Iraq, not the US on its own
-Anyone who volunteers to defend his family, community, country gets my respect
-Politicians who send said volunteers to fight without agonizing over making the right decision should be burned at the stake
-The US would do well to finish what it’s started in Iraq and Afghanistan (you don’t go to a party and wreck the place without helping clean up the next day) and otherwise stay the fuck home for the next 20-50 years.
