Very cool…sounds like you had a great day with your dad .The black charger I built was there today…he ran a10.6@127.
not bad for an old turd. time for some fuel system work!
its also nice to see the Caltrac stuff is working out
what its alllllllll about ^^^^^^^^^^
Just saw a vid of the last pass of the day-thing pulled BOTH front tires. Just a little, but still!
thats pretty cool man, you and the old man bonding and doing what you guys both like to do
Thanks Pete. One thing that’s fun and will continue to be fun is integrating new technology on such an old car. It’s getting a Zeitronix wideband over the winter, that (amongst other things) will shut down the nitrous if the fuel pressure goes low, etc
What size is current motor ?
RPM Engines built 406. Vortec heads, roller cam, Edelbrock air-gap intake. Made ~470 on the engine dyno. Showed how tough it is yesterday (you know it ran lean for a pass, and it also overheated for very short amount of time pulling into the pits when the fan belt came off). Checked compression and it’s still mint!
This winter/next spring mods-
Standalone fuel system for nitrous
Zeitronix wideband
Shifter (needs it bad, current stock one feels like a broomstick in molasses)
Fiberglass cowl induction hood (at some point-current hood weighs 300 lbs and the air induction is horrible)
How does the car weigh all together?
It’s a fucking tank. 3500+.The hood is HUGE and HEAVY. It’s gotta go!
My boss has a cowl hood man , Prolly get it for next to nothing . It is glass as well
Add 1000lbs to that and you have my car haha. Hood def has to go. The hood on my cutlass had to have been around the same weight, it was ridiculous
Tell him that we are very interested. Have him call/text me
Video of 11.22@119 pass

Looks like the rear shocks are too stiff. Should of been watching the vids after each pass. Oh well, we will get that 10.xx next spring!
10 second R/T was due to me checking a few things in the cabin that I forgot to check before the burnout/stage.
It’s all rebound from the front dude , looks normall for a 90-10 shock that just recovered from a moment of air
Thanks man. I’m learning as I go, and have learned a shit ton in a few weeks about setting up this car/engine
goes good. would be an awesome car for bracket racing.
Dude, I turned two 11.22’s in a row with a nitrous system only working when the fuel pressure was above 4 psi (first 1/8 mile or so)!
Now that’s MY kind of car Travis! There is a TON of FREE weight loss left in that car besides that hood… I still see the A/C and heater box on the firewall, Crash bars in the doors, Sound deadening under the carpet, extra wires, ditch the engine driven fan and shroud and put an electric fan on that bad boy, lose the heavy ass copper brass rad for an aluminum/plastic job…the list goes on… If you didn’t live in damn Canada I would swing over sometime and check it out! If you ever need someone to give you a hand with that dinosaur just let me know.
There is always Englishtown and Atco…
