Ask jeffy Im sure he has used em …
Ya I have used them but i didn’t pay near that much for them
just be careful you don’t break them off lol
truth, the second one will break off inside there no doubt. I have something similar to the snapon’s and they are ok.
I’m thinking I might get this set
http://www2.northerntool.com/product/53065.htm
the bolt is broken off about an eighth of an inch deep in the hole will there be an issue with one of these multi spline extractors reaching it enough to do the job? BTW this is a M10 bolt in an aluminum block and I don’t know how it was broken because it was this way when I bought the car, but I’m assuming it was over tightened
can you put heat to it? If the threads are screwed up at all, its not going to want to come out that easily. The heat will move the aluminum faster and open it up to help get the bolt out, but more chances than none it’ll take aluminum threads with it.
If it’s corroded, maybe also let it soak with some PB Blaster before trying to get it out.
the big problem is i don’t know whats up with it being I’m not the person who broke it. I doubt the problem is corrosion, because its a blind hole I suspect it was over tightened I’m still going to hit it with P blaster, and heat it.
I’m even thinking if it can get it drilled perfectly centered, and perpendicular that I can drill all the way to the minor diameter of the internal threads, and the remaining pieces will just about fall out. I know that will be hard to do, but its in a rather large boss so if I screw it up I’m thinking I’ll just heli coil it
