Bronze and granite. Etched with his name, his face and his memory. “He was always a very honorable and courageous man and to see his co-workers and friends come out in such a way to just honor him forever in such a manner with such a beautiful monument is very nice to see and is very heartwarming,” says Joseph Difabio, a childhood friend.
A procession, some kind words and a strong family were all part of the service.
“What a tribute to him, this beautiful memorial here at the station. Thank you, to all those involved in such a memorable memorial to remember him,” says Cindy Todeschini, Craig’s Mother.
For some, a year is a long time. But not for all.
“The past year has been extremely difficult for some of us more than others,” adds Difabio.
“It’s been the toughest year of my life, but we take each day at a time,” says Kristi Todeschini.
With the help of Craig and Kristi’s daughter, Leah, they all get through. Leah was born with out ever knowing her father. But soon enough, she will.
“Especially as Leah gets older and can understand more. And Tyler, of course, he’ll be wanting to come out everyday. But we’ll come out as often as we can. The sense of respect and helping others, that is what he leaves behind,” says Kristi.
Lawmakers passed a law named after Todeschini last year to stiffen the penalties for police chases and injuries caused by them.
