This.
Cant be any worse than a Dodge. My brother has replaced every steering part except the column in his Ram, balljoints, wheel bearings, shocks and other shit with only 85k on it.
My other brother’s '01 F150 has needed a few front end parts like balljoints and a pitman arm but nothing too bad and he’s got 90k.
My truck has 65k on it and doesnt have any front end issues.
My dodge has been for the most part good to me. Yea it needs a plenum gasket, but thats it.
Comparing GM and ford is like comparing a nice log to some good ole’ diarhea… no matter how you see it, they are both pieces of shit.
Greg: Im going to try to do it at my dad’s b/c he has heat, tools, and a press for the bearing.
So the concensus here is that what everybody owns is superior, and every other make/model truck is garbage.
:rofl
no, it’s just that untill germany starts making trucks in the U.S, If you want to tow something or haul lumber we are stuck buying trucks that generally start falling apart soon after we take ownership.
yeah cause german cars are better made lolololololololol
the only for truck that has ant threat here is the tundra
that’s a car with a bed…and a nice engine
that truck is a animal ,it stops it steers it hauls well and its a toyota . put a helper spring in the rear and its a 3/4 ton that will pull a house down
agreed. It does haul ass but needs alot of help with suspension.
not really ,my boss has one and a good cust does he added a leaf in the rear and hauls a huge dual axl trailer with it no problem
Theres a reason the Military wont buy from Dodge… just sayin
My cousin traded in a 01 Ram with 36K on it with its third rear end and second trans thru warranty. He now owns a 04 GMC Sierra with over 100k since new… never an issue.
PS. This Ram never had the paint scratched on the bed or the reciever
You need some type of press for the wheel bearing. Either you need to take the wheelbearing housing out (spindle) and use a shop press or use some kind of “hub tamer” kit. It’s a PITA without the right stuff.
Hub is not necessary, but it makes life a little easier because when you slam the hub out of the bearing, it rips one of the inner races out with it and you need to knock it off with a cold chisel or something because it’s press fit. <Longest run-on sentence EVAR.
danny pretty much covered it. No need for a hub, i have the tool to do it ON THE CAR cause ive done millions of them on my cars. So yah just a wheel bearing kit and thats it.
sounds good… when I actually get off my lazy ass and order I’ll hit you up to possibly borrow that tool from ya.
Thanks
Kenny
k, just make sure you get the wheel bearing KIT, its worth the little extra. Comes with axle nut/tie rod nut/BJ hardware etc.
it comes with a complimentary BJ??? NICE!! lol. I planned on getting the kit. You never know when you may need to burn a nut off and usually by then its too late to get a new one… lol
