On vacation...

…and finally starting to put the car back together. Get the ass lube out!

Just keep saying no spun bearings, no spun bearings, no spun bearings…

No spun bearings :x:

buy a ford, then you wouldn’t have to worry about stuff breaking. Fords are bulletproof.

typical hillbilly. (runs for cover)

:boink

it depends what you are shooting at me :bj:

still wont miss!!! :bukkake:

:naughty:

:owned:

They dont last long they rust out first… before the motor has a chance to be broken in

 your truck a ( 2002 Silverado ) has more rust than Marsha Brady’s Snatch :hsugh:

The install is actually going pretty good. Made my own “special tools”, such as crank gear installer (big socket, harmonic balancer bolt, and washers to act like shims when the socket hits the crank); screwdrivers, sockets & wood for the seal remover/installer. Dealerships must spend a fortune on all those tools.

Had to do a little custom work on the cam though. Did you know that a Sponge Bob band-aid is almost exactly 0.62" wide, the same as the length that the dowel pin needs to protrude to engage the Optispark? Makes a perfect cutting guide - true story.

is it done yet?

nice lol

:hahano: Leave it to Shaggy to resurrect a painful thread.

Actually it’s been done except for some knock last time I ran it. Had the valve covers clearanced for the scond time from Canton, and shimmed the engine to get it off the steering rack, so hopefully that was the false knock. :x: 12:1 compression has me a little worried, but it still had knock after some 10x gas. Or maybe it’s some piston slap from the forged pistons since they never really got to full operating temperature.

But the last time I messed with it, after having the tranny pump replaced, there was no line pressure after a very short drive. So not sure if it’s the pump again or the tranny. And it has sat since then… :frowning:
