Jesus Christ this website is horribly made, half of the pages have fucking black font and the background is dark blue WTF, but concept is cool
Dear Superfan,
Yes I do live in a completely self sufficient compound and yes it is amazing. You obviously don’t know me.
Seriously though, I specifically said “in the end” and the payment(money) was not going toward equity. I never said, “I get nothin’ for my taxes”!
My tax rants are for another thread though.
290/90/33 clusterfuck is the stupidest interchange. Why they made everyone merge left and then immediately merge right is beyond me. I actually go the back way and get on at Cleveland during rush hour, can fly right onto the 33
Also, bitch about Amherst all you want but there’s basically a highway to take you to and from wherever you need to go. Fuck city streets and red lights. I can get to Grand Island or Hamburg faster than I can get down Hertel in traffic. And those strip malls contain the places people need to get shit, unless you’re one of those fggts that buys everything at the Lexington Co-Op and antique stores :uhh:
This!!
I loled even though I am one of these fggts
I literally leave city limits maybe once per month and try to buy anything I can locally owned and even locally made…PS I love my Subaru Beer this weekend?
YES!
fuck the co op, i got wegmans.
and fuck ugly fucking strip malls.
and fuck main street in the village.
and fuck suburban soccer moms

Also
DASH’s + Co-Op and Sat Farmers Market at Bidwell FTW
one thing about dash’s - i think they get wegmans rejects. holy hell the girls look awful.
If you complain about traffic in Buffalo you probably suck.
someone has never tried to drive through williamsville down main st during the day or NFBLVD/transit on a weekend.
FACT
FACT
Geehee while that is annoying when I lived in Seattle 10mi was like 1hr in rush hr crossing the city. I used to call Joe and chat random BS on my retarded ass long siting in traffic session.
Go spend a week in some other city lol
hey i admitted we are pretty spoiled by the commute around here. my trips to chicago recently have shown me that.
those areas just make me so aggravated.
Best post in this thread, yet…
Buffalo is awesome.
walking out my front door I can:
look at world class architecture such as
in less than 5 seconds
be in a coffee shop in 20 seconds
be in a corner store in 60 seconds
be in a rite aid in 2 minutes
be on allen street in 8 minutes
be at lake erie in 10 minutes
be on elmwood in 15 minutes
be downtown in 20 minutes
and thats all on foot. obviously times go down dramatically driving or even on a bike
depending on where you chose to live in the city you can be even more mobile than the burbs.
I can be on the 190, 33, or 198 within 5 minutes of pulling out of my garage. beats the hell out of living in Amherst 10 minutes away from the nearest 290 (or even worse 990) exit, especially if you have a 9-5 and need to deal with the 90/290 interchange multiple times a day at rush hour
If I need big box retail I head to north Buffalo and can be there in 10 minutes maybe 15 if main streets are congested.
as a bonus I also have low taxes and live in the fastest appreciating real estate market in Erie county. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
^^
have you traveled much? buffalo isn’t the only city with old buildings and places to walk/bike to. There is also a significant number of cities who are even more friendly to bikes and personal transportation than Buffalo.
How did that work out last time they tried to bring some big money data centers into Lockport and expand that area into a tech sector.
Lots of people love cutting through side roads. I love highways and rather drive an extra few miles on a highway to get somewhere than deal with red lights.
Williamsville isn’t that bad. I used to live down by ECC north and would drive from the 190->290->Main Street and all the way through williamsville at 5:15. Took 25-30 minutes. I live in North Buffalo now and the drive down Colvin and Sheridan is almost as long.
The biggest issue with Buffalo is everything is spread out everywhere with no public transit
We have an awesome subway system!
Can’t find a youtube video of this…
But this sums it up pretty well http://us.myspace.com/music/player?sid=45489631&ac=now
