Buffalo 2nd Best City To Relocate to w/ Buffalo Pro and Con & Citv vs. Burb Position!

I would never want to live in Niagara County though. Not that it’s a bad place to live, I’m just happy in the Tonawanda/N. Buffalo area.

I think im with you on this one…

But thats the thing I like about Western New York. Buffalo is small enough that you can live in the Burbs and still reap the daily benefits of a city nearby. Some people love the city life. but if youre looking for an authentic city living experience, I would probably choose to do it elsewhere (outside of investment reasons). Buffalo has its charm and can be great someday but right now its nothing more than a dusty gem that needs a lot of polishing before its a place many people will want to live.

this thread is as bad as an iphone vs anything thread

At least it hasnt gone political or religious yet… :funny2:

Some areas, yes. But dollar for dollar, the nicer parts of Niagara county are more expensive tax wise, compared to Clarence or Williamsville.

LMFAO. Stealing this for later.

Meh, there are nicer buildings, architecturally, but that is pretty bad ass. I want to visit Buffalo someday.

I love that we’re arguing suburban life in a new house vs suburban life in an old house. Buffalo doesn’t offer city living. Can you live here without owning a car, relying solely on public transportation to get you to your job, shopping districts, restaurants, parks, etc? Nope. You walk out of your city house, and get into your car in your own driveway and drive there. It’s not identical to living in the burbs, and it certainly has a different feel and you can access some stuff by walking depending on where you live, but arguing the city vs the suburbs in WNY is silly.

lol that was always my point about north buffalo not being city living.

Oh and http://www.buffalorising.com/2012/11/rumor-walmart-eyeing-hertelelmwood-corner.html

Lebrun is my dream street in Buffalo.

AND WE GET TO HAVE IT MONTHLY AT A MINIMUM!!!

As much as I hate walmart and the thought of yet another walmart, that section of elmwood really doesn’t offer much.

Ya that walmart is gonna cause more traffic on a already congested area. At least it will keep the hipsters from crossing any further towards Hertel.

Isn’t there like a target and an applebees right there? That area’s not really part of the “local” district anyway.

This is the absolute truth.

Although, I have to say, I love the historic homes. For me, that would be the only draw to staying inside city limits. Cougarspeed and Jaeger’s houses are awesome.

When I think back to how we used to absolutely RUIN the nice houses on Minnesota, I get really disappointed. So many of them were so nice in their hayday. Now they are just shit after being abused by college students for so many years. And now it’s even worse, I hear.

I should update with all the house mods I did this year. Got a lil crazy over here. Not sure if I ever even updated since I moved in. Anyhow its wayyyyy more siq now.

There are definitely beautiful homes. When I was house shopping I actually looked at this one house that was right on a park, a mile from the waterfront, and 2 minutes from a grocery store and a couple of bars.

Oh wait, that was my house on Grand Island. :stuck_out_tongue: City for life yo!

Did you decorate the rape room?

Just for the record, I’m not hating on Buffalo city life. If I was baller enough to afford a nice house in a nice area and private school for my kids I’d consider it. The burbs are just cheaper.

Yeah it now plays the ice cream truck song when the door opens and has giant clowns painted on the walls. Looks great!

yup, i have quite a few friends that have their carry and conceal. im actually thinking about getting it just because i can, lol.
