I think I read that the houses average something like 20 years or so newer than Buffalo too. Have you found any property tax rates? I have a feeling they would kill Buffalo.
Fry, it’s kind of a losing battle here. You’re trying to argue that Buffalo is a better value when the very first link you posted ranked Dallas well above Buffalo.
Or to put a political spin on it like I always do…
Texas = darkest red state in the US
NY = almost darkest blue state in the US.
Of course their economy and taxes are better. 
Like the other person said, Buffalo is a great place to live but it could be so much better. Cut the public sector payroll in half, get a medicaid program in the 50th percentile for cost instead of being more expensive than the #2 and #3 states combined and get real election reform so the incumbent isn’t basically guaranteed the win and this state would be so much better.
Of course, then our economy would really take off, housing prices would explode, and we’d no longer be that cheap great place to live if you find a good job.
