no your not
Blah, doesn’t bother me.
listen jam you should really come down here.
as far as city living goes…
ive lived in hamburg and in the city. the way i see it is there are certain areas where all these killings etc are taking place. killings/acts of violence in general are usually not 100% at random. there are certain places you just know to stay away from then there are certain places where i feel way safer than being in blasdell or some other shady portion of the suburbs. all i know is i like urban life.(not buffalo persay) but there is always something going on down here. its way more entertaining esp. in the summer when you can walk/ride your bike everywhere almost faster than driving.
either way
your opinion = my opinion
not better. not worse. just a different view.
I also grew up in the suburbs- Hamburg and Orchard Park. Right across the street from walker actually. Through college I lived in Amherst and Tonawanda, and I grew to hate suburban sprawl. In my mind, not much is worse than having to drive down Niagara Falls Blvd in the middle of the day.
I’ve lived in the city for two years now, and I absolutely love it. Nowhere in the suburbs will you find areas with as much going on, as many stores, restaurants, bars, etc. as the Elmwood strip and Allentown. I like being able to walk to places, I can walk to bars and restaurants, hell I even walked to go do most of my Christmas shopping, and probably walked a shorter distance than the average suburbanite walked in the mall parking lot. Work is a 2 mile drive for me. I plan on buying a house here very soon. One day I may move out into the country so I can have guns and snowmobiles and other toys, but I probably wont do that until I am well into my 30s.
Granted, where I live is among the nicest neighborhoods in the city and it still isnt 100% safe, but I never feel ‘unsafe’. There are definitely a lot of really bad areas in the city, and in places they are close to the good neigborhoods, but by the definition of a city, that is how things are going to work out. There just isnt always room for a buffer zone between neighborhoods. Suburban people are very quick to get the impression that its “omg the big bad city, dont go down there or you’ll get shot!”, but that is a really unfounded opinion. Dont go hang out on the east side or Grant street, maybe. The area surrounded by Richmond & Delaware, Allen & Forest, and over to Delaware Park (which is a very sizeable part of the city) is very nice and is safe for the most part, especially farther north. The majority of the shootings and murders that you hear about are well over on the east side, or on the far west side.
Whether you like life in the suburbs, country, or city is ones own opinion, but if you like city life, definitely do not be turned away from Buffalo because of crime. Just move into the right neighborhoods.
you know, i figured i’d check out the Bravery’s shit on youtube
and they are a horrible band
Speaking of bad places to live…
What is up with the missing woman in Colden and the murdered woman in Elma/Marilla?
They think they are connected some how.
The search HQ is on Center street, there have been tons of cops around.
I live between Elma and Colden!:ohnoes:
I am moving to the city where it is safe.
i dont think the murders are even half as bad as the break-ins and shit
i dont know the exact details, but it seems like most of the murders are gang related and/or just ghetto ppl being stupid and ghetto. fighting over drugs and corner control.
Personally, im not really afraid of being shot by one of them, cause they have no reason to shoot me. However, i am concerned about break-ins. Assholes fucked up my last car and stole a really nice head unit. Ive heard countless stories of ppl getting homes broken into and lots of nice shit stolen. Hell, on christmas day, a co-worker of mine’s house got broken into. they stole xbox 360, nintendo wii, wallets, and even the kid’s car. the live near elmwood. now THAT is what i would be afraid of happening if i lived in the city of buffalo. Couldnt put any nice car audio eccuipment in ur car, cant a flashy tv near a window, etc, etc… and sadly enough, its insanely easy for these guys to get away with this shit.
pisses me off man, big time
Well, if they are both related, the guy is only going after old people so you’re safe.
Oh wait, you are old… nevermind. Lock your doors.
Then just fucking let the women out of your basement so you hillbillies can all feel safe again!
Very true. The chances of getting murdered in the city for no reason are slim. But I like being able to wake up and know my car will be in my driveway and intact in the morning, not stolen/ransacked/dented/damaged. I like not having to worry about my house being broken into. I like walking around at night alone without fear of being robbed. That kind of stuff happens every day in every part of Buffalo. Nothing pisses me off more that having to go through a million steps to safeguard myself and the stuff I work hard for, because some waste of life wants to steal.
Plus I like the greenspace, lack of traffic, quiet, etc. I’ll probably move further out than Hamburg. I like visiting the city, but I would never live there. But to each his own, everyone has different tastes in where they want to call home.
No reason to shoot you? There was an article in the paper that about 20 of the people who were killed were for soemthing stpid, such as 50 bills in cash, jsut for a cell phone etc. IF they are killing for something as stupid as a cell phone they will kill for no reason at all
Thats why I’m glad I live in a small hick town lol. Acually there was a drunk guy that shot up a house with an sks last weekend I heard
