IIRC, it is illegal to have a child in a carseat in the front of any vehicle when the child can be placed safely in the back seat of the car.
I personally know a few cops that have given people some serious shit for letting their kids sit upfront in a carseat in a vehicle where the passenger airbag can’t be turned off.
In a truck with a bench seat/no extended cab, the carseat may be upfront but the passenger airbag must be turned off. I have to have my daughter in the front seat of my ranger, but no passenger airbag, and I only do it if I absoloutely have to… I hate it when I have to pick her up from my wifeys work in the truck…
