Building my block

i was pushing around the idea of a k22 with the s2k crank but i dont have the money and its cheaper to build a k24 then it is for me to build a 2.0 the head on a CRV flows better then the stock head for cheap and my intake manifold bolts up with no water port fix. This is why i want the head…

I tried to delete it, which didn’t pan out…I was thinking 16A2… I agree with Joe, boosting the 2.4 without changing the head would yield pretty good torque, and save you quite a bit.

Boost loves RPMs its simple.

Your going to be dissapointed when your making a pull and whack the rev limiter at 7500. when the guy next you pulls the gear to 9500. The spool time will not be much different either.

to add to that. you will be spinning haha…

SRT-4 guys hate the fact they can only spin to 6grand. This also limits them to certain turbos because the time they get them spool bam! 6K

the head im swapping it to is a k24 head that flows better then almost every k series head and its cheaper then swapping it to a real vtec head by 400bux, i can get a k24a1 head all day long for 150-250bux shipped

well what redline do you think i should go with

Oh another factor that should be brought in is the fact im running an ep3 5speed with RSX final drive so i will have longer gearing, my car should top out at 175 in fifth

How big is the crank you plan on useing?

its a k24 crank 99mm stroke people rev them to 8k on built bottoms

thats scary. haha

thats why i was going to go with 7500, 8k just seems like to much. but hondata sets the tsx engines redline to 7500 so i feel safe with it

with a K20 head?

no…i havent been planning on a k20 head, there to expensive. im using a k24a1 crv head it outflows almost all of the other heads damn near 300cfm and its only 250 bux or less shipped, im retaining the broken vtec to keep my exhaust valves open all the time instead of just in vtec. there is a flow chart for the head im talking about up there in another post

Piston speed is super high like that, I wouldn’t do that personally. I like the a4 head idea though, are you going to smooth it out at all, or leave it?

The A1 Head that ill use will be porty matched to my intake manifold by me

SO here is my new more specific build list…
Blue Prints H Beam Rods
Wiesco 10.2:1 C/R Pistons
Extra Thich Swain Tech Coating To Bring Compression to 11:1
ARP Head Studs
Cometic Head Gasket
K24A4 Block
K24A1 Head
A2 Springs and Retainers
Skunk 2 Stage 2 N/A Cams (For a3 style vtec)
Prb Intake Manifold Port Matched to head
Cybernation Turbo Manifold Port Matched to Head
ACL Bearings

Im getting an RSX 5 speed and throwing the 6 speed final drive in and adding my LSD

came across some interesting info the other day, apparently a2 oil pumps are almost identicle in terms of flow capacity to the a1/a3/a4 pumps so there is no need to upgrade because its not really an upgrade. the only different pump is the z3 pump
