I think the part that surprised me more than anything was this:
Some 82 percent of people polled [in France] approved of a ban, while 17 percent disapproved. That was the widest support the Washington-based think tank found in any of the five countries it surveyed.
Clear majorities also backed burqa bans in Germany, Britain and Spain, while two out of three Americans opposed it, the survey found.
walk into a bank in a ski mask and dont remove it, see what happens.
fuck them, take that shit off. I refuse to look at the bigger picture aswell. ooo big brother oooo. shut the fuck up.
I walk into a gas station, owned by a turban guy that I’m cool with, and I still think, hes probabaly going to explode.
Thats ALL I think, when I see some jack ass who cant wear her dress right, because its still stuck on her he-man face.
Interesting. I like it. It’s not cut and dry because I generally don’t like government telling people what they can’t say, buy, wear, do, etc., it represents a lot of bad shit and it gives their women some recourse to push back against fundamentalism. Not to mention, although most of these ones aren’t what I had in mind, I am in favor of all laws telling women to wear less clothing.
I guess I can understand it from the public safety angle, but I would not vote for the ban. I do not think that the actual risk involved of someone wearing these outweighs the step of stripping someone of their personal freedoms.
Actually, the more I think of it I do not really see an issue with public safety. The fact that someone is wearing a Burqa does not make them more likely to commit a crime or pose a risk.
You can follow any religion you want still but I am not against prevent people from removing clothing in public that prevents proper security measures.
Like it was already said, I have to remove sunglasses and my hat when I go into my bank. They are not opposing my religion to the NY Yankees or Dolce and Gabbana, they are just keeping their environment safe.
Some of you guys would really do well to read a book. Preferrably before you trade in all of the unalienable rights that your creator endowed you with for safety.
You’re thinking backwards. If they’re allowed then “terrorists” would just wear them, etc. Not banning them because women of that faith are more dangerous.
Let everyone carry a gun and the other rights will follow.
Did I read somewhere that France has the highest Muslim population outside of the middle east? The majority of Europe will be Muslim pretty soon.
If they call a home and the person says they are against it and so are the other 20 people living in the house does that still count as one vote against?
If they call another home and all four of the people are for it does that count as one vote for it?
It should also be noted that they ONLY outlawed the burqa and niqab which are only 2 outa 7 different head coverings. The difference is that these are the most extreme and used by those who believe in sharia law, etc. “Modern” Muslims don’t wear that shit anyway so this only effects part of the Muslim population.
Looks like there are already laws in place in some states against wearing masks. Why should an american not be able to wear a kkk outfit but yet a muslim could wear a burqa? What about unalienable rights?
This is BS. In fact, I think it would be better not to legislate that Muslims cannot wear garments that identify them as such, but instead they should require Muslims to wear something on their person that identifies them as Muslim. Perhaps a crescent moon patch or something… That way we can all watch out for their scheming ways.
