bush, PARDON ME

wow.

now thats crazy stuff.

wow, I’m speechless…

Wow. Fuck him.

pfff… america is perfect or at least always right

I think this is a bit old. They mentioned a potential democratic congress in the video.

Regardless, not surprising this was done.

Good for him. In this case I believe the result justifies the means.

Damn. I just agreed with Bush. Me get dumber.

So you agree with pardoning yourself for breaking international law?

its funny how we accused hissein of training his military to ignore the geneva convention and we are doing the exact same thing. But i still think certain things outlined in the patriot act are a lot scarier than this.

Absolutely…

Now the real question is, how can any one president be this dumb as to let this turn public?

He’s covering his own ass, you and I both know this is a part of war.

That’s what Hitler thought. And Stalin. And Hussein. And any number of Dictators brought to power on the backs of “I can solve your problems, keep you safe, and route the bad guys” rhetoric.

So everything that the US presidency stands for, honor, integrity, unbias, etc is not as important as covering your ass? I agree, it’s a smart move in regards to keeping his ass out of a sling but as far as doing US President-quality things, this ranks right at the bottom…

And no, I don’t know that this is part of war and neither does Bush since he has no combat or military experience.

Yes you are correct the presidency does “stand” for what you just stated. Once again however, this is part of war. It’s not always “fair or just”

You have to remember, 99% of what goes on over there stays over there. If the public had any idea, think of how many different activists would be having a conniption over it.

what if the international community still deemed what he and the rest of them did as war crimes? The US just doesn’t turn them over? Or does the whole world hate us even more because of one dumb ass?

edit~i just don’t understand how a domestic law about such a huge international law could really keep him out of trouble after he is out of office.

This is actually part of a bill that passed in 2006. However, now that the count down to the end of the Bush era is <12 months, a lot of people are wondering what the real implications of that bill will be.

Too bad the person occupying that office doesn’t follow the same ethics and beliefs.

Here is my biggest complaint: The Bush administation snubs everything that the original founders of our country setup in the Constitution. The 3 branch system of government was designed to limit the power of any single branch, but with the ability ( and use as seen during the bush administration ) to nominate the Judicial branch and get approved by a single party controlled ( who is headed by the President ) Congress, there is nothing outside the reach of establishing as law anything the President desires ( read Patriot Act ) regardless if its for the good of the country, its citizens, or his own agenda/party needs. When the judicial branch steps up, he pushes a bill that says “what we do is ok but what they do is not”. This is the same approach with gay marriage.

And don’t get me started on the seperation of Church and State. The intent was to protect the Government from the justification based on Religion as it is to protect the Citizens form persecution or manifestation of Government for or against any specific religion. Yet he pushes bans to gay marriage as a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT because his religion believes homesexuality is a sin. Fuck, every time he says “God told me that I would be president” it gives me a shiver up my spine.

Right there with ya.
