whats the deal with Kustom Works’ Skyline? did he pay out the ass to bring it over legally?
geeze 10+ pages… good thing its slow at work today. lol
what about moronrex do they still import cars legally? i want a skyline too!
ok bump. what about a plain-jane e30?
I had a RHD Del Sol with a title registered and drove it for three years, go to the dmv and play dumb like I did and you might get it on the road. It was a $8500 risk I took but it worked out for me. I miss that fucking car and still wish I had it, kid owns it now in AZ and wont sell it back to me.
I’m going to stop by the DMV tomorrow and maybe the local border patrol/customs office
you will be required to complete EPA form 3520-1 and DOT form HS-7
you will need to have the title and bill of sale along with a letter from the manufacturer stating that it meets or exceeds the dot/epa standards for the US market
and because ive seen it before…
make sure you bring the car.
Awesome, thanks!
from the epa site http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/canadian.htm under '1995 and prior model years"
Now I just need to get something for the DOT form, my best guess would be to call bmw usa
for the kustom workz skyline i think they registered it as a sentra to be honest
dealer plates
id love to seize it HAHAHAHAH
you sure its not a motorex skyline since its an r33?
When I did this many years ago on a Canadian Geo Tracker it only had one of the two certs on the vehicle (I think it was EPA). I just had to call GM, pay $50, and they faxed me an official form stating the vehicle met the DOT regs. I had all my paperwork in order at the border, vehicle on a trailer, and the process went perfectly with US customs. They reviewed the paperwork, collected my sales tax, and stamped everything so I had no problems registering with NYSDMV.
