i’ve heard of a few of them swaping the stock motor back in for the inspection, then swapping again after lol
not it wont get impounded untill they fail the inpection test, so yea guys do swap back to stock…like for hondas its easier, they cant tell a jdm gsr from a usdm one. well im assuming most couldent, but the sr20 swap or rb swaps are obvious
california is gayer then richard simmons
i donno, i kinda like that
I heard domestics get fucked in CA also. :gotme:
if that happens in NYS i’m moving out of state, cause after moving back in state i wonder why i fukin did. rant edited
yeah, i always thought domestics had a lot worse emitions then imports.
if a cop wanted to be a prick they coudl get me for my non DOT hood, i wonder if thats a problem there, so they encourage body kits and discourage racing eventhough in a roundabout way racing progresses technology for production cars.
that is the biggest crock of shit I have ever seen
not all :2fingers:
thats such bullshit. i mean serriously, i can understand the cops bitching at people for streetracing, but modding thier cars? come on now, i mean its not like putting most of those parts on your car is gonna endanger your safety for everyday driving. shit, half of the aftermarket parts out there are prob better and more relaible than OEM. if u put a brake upgrade on ytour car, that could HELP you prevent getting in an accident.
its the same thing with widnow tints, let people have thier fucking privacy for god’s sake!
Can they pull this shit on classic/muscle car guys then too? highly unlikely that it would happen.
Except for the stickers, that car was a “sleeper”. Last I checked, ricers don’t spend money/can’t afford sheet metal intakes, and most ricers wouldn’t know what to do with adjustable cam gears. That car looked like someone put some effort into it.
Another problem is that video teaches the police to automatically assume streetracing when that is not always true. There are plenty of ways to modify and improve your car and still be able to pass smog/emissions, and in some cases, even increase efficiency.
it’s illegal to modify emissions shit on a car, so they are right. Its breaking the law, its the risk everyone takes. This is just like people who bitch about police when they get pulled over for speeding like they are the bad guys.
And as for window tints, why dont you think about it like you were a cop and you pull someone over and they have their windows tinted. You cant see who or what is in the car, but they can see you. You dont know if you are walking up to a car with a guy in the backseat pointing a gun at you.
You want privacy get a hotel room, plus she will think you are a baller :cjerk:
thats what i was thinking too.
other than massive superchargers, its probably not covered becuase the general guy with a old muscle car is in his 40’s and is just cruzin
regardless of import or domestic in the vid, the point is somebody somewhere decided that THEY know better, and should ban all modifications cause modifications are “bad”…
personally I hate seeing videos like that cause it’s only going to get worse for everyone.
I guess everyone will just have to buy faster cars and keep them stock. lol
:word: This is probably a car that they impounded for racing or it didn’t pass the referee’s inspection.
in germany your car cannot be modified unless it is approvable by the TUV.
if we ever see that in NYS I am packing my bags.
They wouldnt mess with older muscle cars as they are probably emissions exempt.
Vehicles that are less than two model years old, or more than 25 model years old (for example, a 1975 model in 2001)…thats how it is in NY.
 that kind of kills the aftermarket in CA,not to mention a good hobby if you dont street race.
