First one off the line

Looks like I might see it this weekend

I wonder if the front grill looks like cheap plastic in person?

that would cover your drive to work and back + you get to charge it at work and I would assume it has a gas generator just like the volt for unlimited range.

do we have a thread somewhere on the XLR?

because i saw a modded one on vacation and it looked rad as hell. you can get these things for under $30k all day long too.

That is a gorgeous car. That rear 3/4 shot almost has some Gallardo in the roofline and fender area.

Cadillac is on point. A coworker picked up an ATS and I must say, it’s a damn nice small Cadillac - something I don’t think could have been said before with a straight face.

ATS starts at at a decent price however with the good motor etc you’re up there in 335i price range and other proven platforms.

looks fucking fantastic.

only 35 miles on a charge though?

The LHU is the same as the LNF, but can handle more power. They have EFR kits out already to make 450whp. A simple tune can net over 300whp 350tq with ease…

Not that I am aware of. There is a guy that shows up to meets with an XLR-V that has over 500 whp.

ELR starts at $75,000, way more than previously predicted.

that’s before any possible government incentives (from the feds, that can be up to $7,500) but it’s also *before the $995 destination charge and other fees. GM highlights the fact that, when you add everything up, you could get an ELR for “as low as $68,495,” but that’s also roughly where a Tesla Model S starts

^ Can’t wait to see these on the blue street sign streets sporting handicap hang tags

Not with that price…

Yep all Caddy owners are old or cripple.
If you see me walking with a limp, that’s my gun walk

And yes it is too expensive and I assume Gus’ comment was just to stir the pot, but any excuse for a burnout picture is a good excuse.

I’d buy an XLR-V for my wife

…BigRon, nice heater pic!!

But I was leaning more towards this…

$75,000? Ugh…

I love the technology in my Volt, but I’m not about to pay twice as much for a little fancier leather and a little sportier design. Since the car will probably have a similar EV range and 0-60 as the Volt, since it’s essentially the same system, that’s absurd.

Why the hell is it so much of an additional cost? Where is the justification in $35,000 more than a Volt? Ridiculous… (EDIT: $40,000 more, since the 2014 Volt dropped down to $34,995 instead of $39K)

when you have a lower number being built (vs. volts) you have to have a higher cost to get your development costs back. Plus I think they are counting on enough people buying these at any price so they don’t care. I figure they think somebody looking at this is cross shopping a new $100k 911.

Wonder how may laps i could get at the track day with this?

Welp, say buh-bye:

Cadillac’s slow-selling plug-in hybrid coupe won’t be a part of the brand’s future.

Introduced in 2013, the ELR sold just 1,310 units in 2014 according to GoodCarBadCar.net. So far in 2015, just 311 units have been purchased.

Slashing prices on them too:

Only 1,835 Cadillac ELR Coupes have sold in North America over the past 18 months. Dealerships in the New York area are hawking the ELR for just under $50,000, a whopping 35 percent discount from its sticker price, according to TrueCar, a Web platform that lets shoppers lock in a price before visiting a dealer.

… Neither theory worked in the real world. Potential customers viewed the ELR either as a laughably expensive Volt or a perfectly nice Cadillac with a less-than-luxurious powertrain.

sounds about right… save it by swapping out the hybrid stuff for an LS3.
