Calling people who have their Class B CDL with air brake endorsement

Im working on my class b now also. Im most nervous for the pretrip inspection. Its a lot to remember. Taking the test in a friend’s dump truck.

I have looked into classes the cheapest i have found was the CDL school in Menands its like $800-$1000 bucks. Its nothing i can swing until springtime. Still in the process of studying the DMV CDL manual. i cant belive how much shit there is to know. As of right now i’m going to go take my permit test in January.

repost

I AM FUCKING SHOCKED!!! Another stupid ass post from you.

:retardclap

I am not pointing this at you, and I am not callin you a scumbag or anything my friend. Just making a point with your refrence.

spring is 4 months away. 120 days. say you work 5 days a week, thats 85 work days or so.

Dont spend $2 on a soda, or $4 on a coffee. $170-$340 saved by spring time.

Bring a cheap ass lunch instead of buying some shit for $6-10 a day. $510-850 saved by spring time.

or,

dont buy shit you really dont need here and there for $50-100 at a rip.

Just daily drinks and lunch every day at work will pay for your test come april, like you said! :number1

I am in your boat man. I am saving like a mofo right now, to pay off debt. I want to be debt free this time next year, and I have about a used vette’s worth to pay off (minus mortgage). BUT, i dumped alot of shit I dont need; TWC cable and phone, lesson’d my car insurance on, sold a car/payment to get a DD with no payments and wont need parts every week, cut back on my lunch’s and daily sodas, more or less forcing myself to second guess swiping my card or buying something I dont need to get me to work, into bed to go to sleep and get me back up in the morning to do it all again. It sucks, but I know its worth it when I am successful.

Im also trying to save money and pay off bills. Two loans have been paid off, Im paying extra on the credit card and a little extra on the truck. The credit card should be paid off within the next few months if all goes as planned. Its at a point where its very manageable and I pay several times the minimum payment.

I dont swipe my credit card unless I have the cash to pay for it. I only use it for gas, online purchases and stuff where its just easier to pay with a card. Then I put cash in a safe place to pay for that stuff. No more random purchases that “I’ll pay for later on”.

Lately Ive been making more money and spending less and deciding that I dont really
‘need’ certain things so I dont buy them. Sometimes I will go out and have a little fun but I pay for it.

I got rid of a car that was nothing but a money pit and a headache last year and put the entire amount I sold it for onto my credit card bill. Ive also decided not to buy any more toys.

I plan on keeping the truck for quite a while after its paid off just to not have a payment on a vehicle. Ive still got the quad and that loan is cheap and not a big concern so once the credit card and truck are paid off Ill work on that loan.

+repz paul.

I remember you saying you were thinking of doing all that a year back, glad to see its in action and its working for you man!

sketchy has to buy beard products and gauges though guys

They aren’t called gauges, KEVIN. Plus, his beard is it’s own person – it can take care of itself.

Good points above.

I say someone starts a discussion thread about saving money and cutting costs. I’d like to see where it goes and hear some real-time tips/tricks. Lawd knows we could all be better at it.

The one in menands trains you on an auto as far as I remember… Also they take you out in lots of three so if its a 4 hour class per day, split that up in three. I took bishops and everything was one on one and aside from some pre trip stuff all the hours were ass in seat.

You get what you pay for and I understand that you can only do what you can, however being someone who just went through it and know others who have as well I would stay away from the cdl school.

If you do a 24 hour driving class at most it’s going to be like 6 hours driving time with them. Do a 18 hour class with bishops and you’ll get like 16-17 hours seat time. Not to mention training on an auto is about useless as fuck. Some company’s have autos, but most still use sticks. Imagine trying to get a driving job and when he says how’s your shifting, and you’ve never done it. Suppose you could lie but what happens when you blow the tranny or clutch within days. It’s a little different than driving a stick in a car, but once you do it it’s easy.

Oh not to mention the cdl school uses little cute pup trailers also.

Going to look into bishops. Glad someone could give me a bit more info. Can ya tell me what ya paid for bishops? If not no biggie ill give them a call tomorrow

Forget what course I took, they are flexible and even let you start before paying it all as long as your paid on full by the date of road test. They also will work with you as far as hours per day and what days so you can go before work or after work depending on your schedule. I think there shortest is course is like 1700, but again it’s like three times the driving time as the cdl school.

The cost of training depends on what level you need.

I think if you study the materials well enough on your own you could get away with a cheaper course and test.

I think you might be better off going CDL A over B…most cost effective and will get you more job opportunities. The more certifications, the better. Doubles,Triples,Hazmat…you want to try and score all that shit.

Class A Vehicles - Minimum Exams
General Knowledge (50 questions)
Air Brakes (25 Questions)
Combination Vehicles (20 questions)

vs

Class B Vehicles (Minimum Exams)
General Knowledge (50 questions)
Air Brakes (25 questions)

The only reason im going with just a B and not A is that im doing it on my own, and my friend whos helping with the road test and practice only has a class B.

Iirc you can’t get doubles endorsement until you’ve had 5 years of verified driving employment. Having your license for 5 years doesn’t count either you must have it verified by an employer.

DelSketchy,
You’re a fucking clown. Buy more useless guns and shit and living weak check to weak check instead of bettering yourself.
You actually have people giving you legit advice and offering fucking money and you just piss all over them by rubbing in your new ar you bought using a tax loan from h&r block or some shit.

When you live under my roof then you can tell me what to do with my money. Until then go fuck yourself.

You no NOTHING about me, what’s in my bank account or whats going on in my life. All you do is sit there like a fucking herb post shit from behind a fucking screen, Thinking your fucking opinion matters to me. Go fucking troll someone else.

Don’t post about your life, how broke you are, how you want a new job, etc, if you don’t want people to comment on it.

People know what you tell.

Stop crying.

Believe it or not, people want to see you succeed in life and you keep doing these life activities causing you to go backwards.

You got people offering you ca$h monies to get a CDL and people giving you legitimate ways to save up for it and you just shit on them.
