i bought my first decent camera and am picking up a new to me lens tomorrow. what should i look for when i buy it? besides trying it on the cam and making sure the focus and everything functions correctly.
if it matters it is a canon L series telephoto going on a rebel xti
All the actions should be smooth - zoom and aperture rings. Check sharpness by taking a few photos and reviewing them. Take photos at small and large apertures. Check for any odd color rendition. Any apparent damage or loose contacts…give it a wiggle when you mount it to the camera.
