Can I remove this?

sorry i don’t have a pic right now, but I have a redtop SR in a 1992 180sx.
It has a valve mounted to the top of the head right above the turbo that allows flow from the exhaust in the down-pipe to the intake just before the MAF. Can I remove all of this safely, or will it confuse the ECU or cause uneven pressures or anything? It seems like it wouldn’t be a problem, but the vacuum line is hooked to a electronic sensor or something, so i don’t want to mess with the info the ECU is receiving or sending. I want the best possible millage right now, not more power, and this thing is inconvenient. especially for trying to plumb it in to an aftermarket intake pipe.

So what does it do, how does it work, and can i safely remove it?

thanks

egr/avi valve.

when you swap an sr into a domestic car, you gotta remove it anyways because it hits the steering linkadge, or whhen you get an aftermarket turbo elbow, no hole there for it.

i have a 92 180 aswell,
just plug everything off, and your good.
