can you burn xbox games and play them on a modded xbox…
I think you need to download then burn the certain program off the internet, and then I think you need to put it in before you play the game
you need to sauter on a chip, then load in a different BIOS that will automatically preload that software when wanting to play burnt games
i got the mod chip all ready
soldering inside XBOX = bad…lol…i’ll just buy the games @ record exchange for 5 or 10 bucks
I told you yesterday on the phone, Eric, but I was kinda busy so I made it a quick explanation. Now that I’m at work I’m far less pre-occupied. Here is my rundown on how I copy/burn games
straight to hard drive - If you have a real game (which you always should if you are making backups!!! :kekegay: ) you can use software on the xbox to copy it directly. One software title that works well for this is HDDLoader. Another with less than perfect results is DVD2XBOX (does movies and games). If you use this method I’d recommend using HDDLoader.
You have a retail game but want a copy - This is probably the most complicated situation. Without some general CD burning, FTP, and ISO knowledge you will get lost real fast here. I have read about software that combines these steps into a point and click method but have always had problems with it. I assume the people writing the software just can’t test it enough in all environments. So I will explain the way I do it. You have to have FTP access to the machine while the disc is inserted. Often you have to take off Autoplay features or it will just load the game. Once you have access to the disc (will not read in a PC DVD-ROM) you have to copy all of the files over to your PC. Once all the files are copied you have to make an ISO out of them. I prefer the software title called SimpleX. Create the ISO with that and burn it with Nero. When you burn, make sure to finalize the disc. I have found through experience to burn at low speed and/or buy decent media.
You download a backup ISO and want to put it on disc - Once you have the ISO just refer to the previous example.
You downloaded a backup ISO and want to put it on the HD - You can extract the ISO with the software I mentioned above. Once you extract it you will have all the files/structure that the xbox needs. Simply FTP it over to the xbox in the directory where all of your games are.
There are also alot of advanced options like putting multiple games on one disc but thats for advanced users.
seems like if you got a big hardrive & a blockbuster card you can have any game you want for like $4
Close. I have a big HD and DSL. I haven’t stepped foot in a movie/game rental store in years.
didn’t even think about the DSL option…
XBOX is looking like a better & better option.
But personally i think PS2 has a better game selection…probably due to it being around longer & its popularity.
If it wasn’t for new systems coming out in yr or so…i would seriously look into getting a modded XBOX.
But 75-80% of my gaming is just playing ESPN 2K basketball so spending cash on two systems isn’t really worth it to me…but very tempting.
This might sound stupid, but i could never get used to the Xbox controller…my firends got one and i would play it occasionally but never really liked the controller.
The new systems are scheduled to come out, but we all know that will get pushed back and pushed back and pushed back. OR, they will release it on time and it will fuckin suck. Either way them rushing out systems hurts the consumer.
I had a PS2 (3 of them actually) and they all crapped out. The first 2 I got replaced for nothing from Sony as defects and the 3rd one I modded and haven’t tried to replace. The only game for PS2 that I want to play is the upcoming Gran Tourismo. PS2 has similar modding options now that they released the hard drive kit. I want to do mine but have not looked into it much yet. That may be a task for when its cold and snowy out.
I learned Xbox waaay back in theday when the controllers were the size of watermelons. I hated that controller with a passion and it’s actually why i bough the PS2 in the first place. Once they released the S-controller it was all gravy, baby. I prefer the analog on the xbox too. But I like 4 buttons on the top like PS2. Gotta comprimise somewhere I guess.
I just recently bought a wireless xbox controller too that is a direct imitation of the MS S-controller. I use it more like a remote control for the Media center on my xbox. I hate the wires running across my floor in the morning. The quick connect on the cable has saved my xbox from tumbling over way too many times.
