Can you get ticketed for having a novelty, fake plate on the front of your car? Is it just the equivalent of a missing front plate ticket?

I had my real plate in the corner of my front window. Drove by state police daily (went to school at Siena) and was never bothered. I also don’t drive like a toolbag though. If you drive like a civilized human being I think you will be OK for a while, but no guarantees.

I wouldn’t put two plates in front, even with one on the dash. I think that looks tacky

yea, thats where I got the idea. I asked Pete about his and he said he doesnt get shit from cops about the plate being that way
and i haven’t had a front plate since i was 16 and have gotten 2 tickets for it ever. i have had stupidly large illegal stickers on my car and haven’t got a ticket for it, i haven’t gotten a ticket for my h.i.d.s either. just cause you don’t get a ticket, doesn’t make it any more legal. tampering with a liscence plate is a crime and a cop can ticket you for it. doesn’t mean you will ever have a problem.

yea, if u dont have it factory, its illegal for on road use. its unconfirmed, but i heard fines of up to 10K for that :nuts i never had that problem with my mitsu, but i did it proper. i got a good set of projector headlights with metal housings, real glass lenses and a nice cutoff and aimed them just a bit below the line my oem was aimed at. but yes, i must agree with Eliott, if u didnt get a ticket i just means “yet”. i want to fold just the top of my NY plate and mount it under the fog light on the passenger side, like way off to the side there. sort of evo style, but MUCH lower
HID’s in non-HID equipped housing glare no matter WHAT anyone says.
The best = HID + Projectors
Okay = HID + cutoff shield/reflector
Bad = HID + regular halogen technology/setup
As for the plate…I had no plate for a year and a half and got my first ticket 2 weeks ago. I put my plate back on.

i have had no front plate on any of my beaters… and this one has no liscense plate lights… drive normal and youll be fine
