I was thinking of lowering my car, but i was talking to someone today and they said the because i have HICAS i cant lower the rear. This makes no sense to me. I was wondering if anyone could clear this up for me.
As far as I know it will lower just fine.
Maybe the difference is the difficulty in getting the suspension aligned again properly after the drop.
As long as the drop isn’t extreme camber shouldn’t be too much of a problem but you will definetly need to get your toe fixed if you value your tires. Not sure if the HICAS toe is more difficult to adjust or what …

Hicas skirts, more 93’s have them (factory clearout?)
Hicas models were usually loaded, so he’s ASSUMED that yours would have side skirts.
My previous S13 (1992) with hicas didn’t have them, but a 1993 I found at a junkyard did, now mine
as for dropping it, the Tein homepage indicates their ish is hicas compatible so i’d assume that some others are as well

If you can lower a skyline I’m assuming you can lower a 240 with a similar system.
you can lower it without any issues. Hicas sucks, don’t even worry about it.
ok, now since thats been resolved. What is the best spring/shock combination to go with?.
i have hicas and have had my back tires tucked by -4 fingers in the back, almost halfway down a 60 series tire
you can lower a hicas car like any other 240 your friend is a dumbass
I also have hicas (although it is not hooked up anymore) All the better as it doesn’t even work most of the time anyway.
I have no problems lowering the car aswell.
Spring/shock combo, I would reccomend Tein S-tech and KYB AGX.
I ran them for a season and they were very comfertable and lowered the car nicely.
You can pick them up for a good price, I do believe someone is selling a used set in the buy/sell forum.
I sold mine and im now running coilovers tho.

i agree, i swapped mine out for one with a more un-streetable nature one.
atleast hicas wasnt as bad as hondas 4 wheel steering days
