The Erie County Sheriff’s Department says they mistakenly released a prisoner from the Alden Correctional Facility, and then that prisoner committed rape.
Department spokesperson Mary Murray says the prisoner is now back in custody. No other details have been released at this time. This is the second time in 15 months a prisoner has been wrongly released. In December of 2007, Kevin Allen was allowed to walk out of the Erie County Holding Center.
This reminds me of that comedy central movie where the guy was sent to 2500, doesn’t have a bar code, goes to the hospital to get checked out and gets arrested. While in line he says “Man i was just in prison, i’m here to leave”
umm…wow really. how do you even fuck that up in the first place and let the wrong guy go?
edit: so can this be like the instance with the gun? the guy sells a gun to someone who turns around and kills someone with that gun, so the guy that sells it gets in trouble with the law.
they releases someone to the public who shouldn’t be who then rapes someone. sorta like giving a gun to a guy that shouldn’t have a gun.
rape is definitely not funny. The crime committed is not the funny part though, he could have robbed a liquor store, or shot his mother for all I care.
Seriously though, imagine you are a prisoner. You have come to terms with the fact that you are in jail for a long time. You’re cool with that now. Next day, guard comes to your cell. “You’re going free” he says. You, as a prisoner, are quite shocked. You know that you are not supposed to be let free. You act cool though, “Yeah, that’s right. I am supposed to be let free today”. You keep your cool through the whole process. They walk you out and unlock the handcuffs. Then, you run like hell. You know that at some point, they will realize that they just let a dangerous criminal back onto the streets. Then you commit a VERY serious crime. Then you are busted, and tossed right back into that same cell. You now know for sure, you are not getting out for quite some time. You’re fucked.
