you could get away with this one at non-cranked volume levels:
So I would have to get a higher amps on the AC to DC converter?
3 may not be enough for the car amp?
3 wont’ be - look at the link i put up it’s 25amp pwoer supply
So that 25 amp would work. it would put out some decint sound (BASE)
Heres the amp am trying to hook up

you’d have to try it, 25 would be enough to prob shake windows but if u turn it up too loud it’ll put the amp into protected mode and shut off.
protected mode and shut off
That wont do any damage to the amp or the Ac/Dc converter?
If I turned it back down it would be ok, right.?
If you were dead set on doing this you could try getting an electric motor a belt and an alternator and just drive a car alternator witht he electric motor.
On second thought you could just go buy a home stereo amp instead.
most have a reset circuit on them, if it hits protected mode you turn it down and reset amplifier.
I thought you can’t do it unless you got stuff set for the same ohms…
Car & home stuff work i think its car is 4ohm & home is 8 Ohm
check www.jameco.com
look for a converter…i think its a AC to 12VDC supply…get one that has more power (amps or watts) than what the car amp is rated for. If you don’t know look for the amplifiers input fuse and match or exceede that rating. That is probably more power than you need but it won’t hurt.
if he’s using a car amplifier with car subs he’s fine, if he’s using a car amplifier with home speakers it would work but you can’t use car speakers with home amplifier. either way none of that matters when using a power inverter.
I knew it was somthing like that
If the resistance(Ohm) of the speaker is less than the AMP can handle, its like running too fast down a hill, it will fallover (overheat, sound bad, possible damage)
and if its the other way around…the speaker isn’t working to its potential and can sound shitty.
a 1ohm speaker @1000 watts will push 1k @ 1ohm, 500 @ 2ohm, 250 @ 4 ohm and so on. as said… he’ll be fine with an inverter.
my onkyo stereo receiver can run 4 ohm
dont be ghetto, go uot and buy the right shit for the job. it all works out much better in the end
I love my onkyo reciever it can take anything in the back…just like darkstar
onkyo is decent stuff…but when i was buying my reciever i listened to many brands and it came down to the Harmon Kardon beating out the Onkyo.
i’ve had my HK for about 4-5yrs and have no negative comments
I dunno, my buddy sold it to me from circuit city 3 yrs ago and its done its job.
me want one of the new recievers that have on-screen display, very pimp
i did it once back when i was like 15…
all i did was took a power supply from the back of the computer and wired it up to a 600 or so watt amp, and boom there ya go you’ve got sound, of course you have to run the rca’s to it and such but yea its possible,
Al jest buy this.

Comes out to about the same price if I do the car way, so.
