Ok i have a 91 engine swapped into a 89 240sx chassis
now when i put the key in the ignition and try and crank the car nothing happens i dont hear the starter clicking. now whn i take the key out of the ignition a fuse in my engine bay starts to buzz loud and the cluster lights stay on.
i beleive this car previously had a turbo timer installed in it would this mess with any of the ignition wiring?
check all ur grounds…most likely the issue…
Fuses don’t “buzz” they pop and thats it. That sir would be a relay coil dancing like it’s 1982. you’ve got a bad ground somewhere, or many places. check all of them. Rust doesn’t conduct well so you may need to relocate ground points if if the connection’s on a soft spot
which grounds should i check ? and would it be an engine ground or a interior ground.
becauase i have another car that cranks and it has no main engine ground and no upper harness.
check the grounds from ur battery to ur chassis, and ur engine to ur chassis. If needed make extra grounds where necessary. When i did my swap it did the EXACT same thing. Then i remembered the engine had a ground aswell. I hooked that up and it cranked over.
