Car insurance Q's

So its time to get my slo-mobile on the road, with all the competition lately insurances prices have dropped pretty nicely. Normally I go through my parents company Amica, which underwrites me to Drive Ins. by Progressive.

I’d like to get some opinions from people that have used online insurance companies (Esurance, or buying a policy without a local agent).

I’m getting better quotes not going through my agent, but am a bit skeptical about not having a physical office and agent to talk to in-person.

Help a brotha out…

geico…good for me. they’ve always been decent if i needed to talk to someone on the phone. i switched from a physical agent as well and no difference was felt at any point.

SHO: Have you ever needed to make a claim?

a local insurance agency will be able to find you the lowest rates, i’d go through an agency. i was using progressive and decided to go through my agency and my premium went down about $300.

you can call any agency, but here’s mine, call and say you’d like a personal auto quote.

liberty mutual seems to have really good rates as long as you don’t have too many violations. I think if you have 3 in the last 18 months they give you totally different prices that don’t even compare…

Really? must be case by case. Both me and my brother moved from Liberty Mutual to Progressive and the savings were VERY nice.

I had some violations
my brother has a clean driving record.(He drives a slow car, heh)
