Well i am in CT and of course I know of no mechanic to go to. Is there a specific mechanic that does this sort of thing?
Any garage can handle something like that. Monroe or Meineke, I would try. Just start calling around looking for pricing. That would be my best advice too you. Good Luck
yeah… don’t roll up to a monroe and be like
“can you punch/hollow my cat out”
haha
If it is at Meineke, George Foreman can do it and sell you a grill at the same time…
and beat your wife… … did i say that?
sorry, this is ontopic…
you should replace the cat… if you don’t want to, wait until you get home and have someone punch it out… just keep the windows cracked if you are sitting still in a traffic for a while… c2o isn’t that good for you!
and George Jr. George III, George IV, and the rest of the 9 kids he has…
well thanks! I will call around for some prices. The mechanic at home said he would charge me anywhere from $150-$300.
I have a question…
is the smell raw fuel, or is it a fuel/exhaust smell? If its a raw fuel smell, the cat has nothing to do with it. It would probably be a leak somewhere. What exact car is this again…mods?
1998 Acura Integra
You know I was thinking about this yesterday. I think it is more exhaust/fuel, not straight gasoline. Which kinda makes sense since the cat is on the fritz. boo
Thank you guys so much for helping me out with this. I normally ask my dad about this kind of stuff but he is in the hospital and I figured what better group of people is there to ask!? Seriously, thank you guys SO much!
:steelers:
its worth paying that rather than getting sick
ugh, so I called a mechanic in the area and told them of my delima. They said they could only order a new cat from a dealer since the old one isn’t 8 years old yet. Something about my car being too new. They are also waiting to hear back on a rebuilt one and how much that would run me. what a pain!
well said it needed a cat i i dident know if j=honda has a longer warntie on emissions componets like chevy does kthakbye
