Hey, my 240 wont start sometimes. ill turn the key and it just clicks not even wanting to turn over. i had the connections at the battery tightned. another thing is i can get it started with a boost from another car. when i take the key out it is really warm. and this started about 3 weeks ago. when i shift into neutral to stop the revs drop rapidly for a second or two then it idles around 500rmps use to idle at 750. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks
JOSH
there are so many threads like this search the others and maybe you can find your answer, check your battery voltage from there if its at 12v then it may be your starter
^^seems like you may have a combo of problems going on here.
for starting up, like specialedition said check your battery voltage with the car off. also remember to check your fuses associated with that circuit and if you really want to make sure trace your electrical lines for that circuit to make sure there’s no shorts along the way.
for your low idle rpm, i’d check your vacuum hoses for leaks first before you try anything else. good luck let us know how it goes.
starter is no good.
