minus the $20 a day for the cost of the rental, lest say 1 week, you are in teh hole $14.
$14 for peace of mind is well worth it

I’m considering insurance through the rental place though… my insurance covers it, but I have a 1K deductible. Through the rental place, it’s 50.00 for the week and no deductible if for some reason it gets wrecked.
anyone have an idea where I can rent something with a vert top? I didn’t see anything specified on that website
hertz Local Edition has been the best for me, they can even get you a GT-H if you want

If you request a convertible at the buffalo airport you are going to pay through the nose for it. The two times I got a convertible was both at the las vegas airport, where most of their cars are convertibles, and I got the free upgrade.
I usually just go for the cheapest car, then hope that they bump me to a different class for free. Usually they try to upsell you to the higher class at the desk, then they end up giving it to you for free even if you tell them you don’t want it.
9 out of 10 times I’ll get bumped to a higher class car because everybody picks the econo car.
