Car Reved To Redline On Starup

I swaped some body parts today. When my dad was helping me get a bolt of I decided to put my cruise control on since I was looking at it. When everything was done and I started the car it immediatly reved up to redline. I immediatly turned off and took out cruise control and its starts fine as normal.

So why did it do that? I asked my dad to watch the throttle when I started it he said he didn’t see anything. I unpluged and looked at the cord and it didn’t move either. Do I have to unplug battery to reset ECU for my CC to work or is it because if the DE swap?

Make sure your cables aren’t moved causing throttle to be open (common mistake)

Ask your dad to watch closely to see if throttle actually rotated

Make sure the cables are fully released (that is, not pulled)

You throttle will HAVE to open for the car to rev to redline. Sounds like the vacuum in the cruise is causing it to fully open which must be opening the throttle plate.
