so i willl be idling and every now and then it shuts off and i can start it up again. it happened 3 times already i think its jsut crappy gas. any suggestions?
does it happen during braking by any chance? or just while the car is sitting at idle?
chances are it could be a vacuum leak.
i m having the same problem, mine occurs when i pressing the break and the rpms are dropping or when i m done shifting in the bigger gears. To keep my car alive at lights when slowing down i have to down shift so quickly, what could be causing that.
sometimes with the 240’s other cars aswell u can be subject to idle dipping disease…like Gyani said, when hes taking it out of gear the rpm’s will drop lower…somewhere there could be a bad connection in the wiring harness, or a small vacume leak, i have it on my car, i learned to ignore it…but mine has never stalled only goes down to about 400rpm then it will go back up eventually
mines stalls if i brake in neutrel, but if i let the gear go all the way down to about 1500 in second it will stay alive but if i do that in the bigger gears it dies, i’ve also learned to keep it from happening, but once in a while some stupid driver on the street presses their brakes to hard and causes me to have to do some hardcore movements inside the car resulting in it shutting off, which is a huge nusicence.
I was going to get my mechanic to take a look at it, or better yet myself during the weekend. Any major ideas to where the common palce a vaccum leak could be, wiring harness i will get my dad to check out, lol, hes a electrician.
ive been told, for the wiring harness. Go through every electrical connection and use that wire cleaner or connection cleaner stuff, i think u can get it at radio shack or w.e…i dont know about the vacum leaks thouigh
Stalling in neutural while braking = definitely a heavy vacuum leak
somewhere. Check all your lines
Dropping dead while idling, that’s a weird one. How smooth does the
motor idle?
SR20? KA? CA? What kind of motor?
Well maintained?
ijsut had a bad ground lol. its for a ka but i think i might have idle dip it goes up and down.
